North Central Consortium School

North Central Consortium School, now called THRIVE Academy, is a trauma-informed therapeutic school in Fort Dodge operated by the Manson Northwest Webster Community School District. We serve students who have become disconnected from traditional school or who are coping with trauma, challenging behavior, or social and emotional needs. Our main goal is a successful return to each student's resident district.

Our elementary program serves kindergarten through 5th grade in three self-contained, multi-graded classrooms. Our secondary students, middle and high school alike, study literacy, math, social studies and science, with high school courses such as Physical Science, Biology, Environmental Science and Contemporary Issues delivered face to face and through virtual modules.

Every student receives daily Personal and Social Development instruction covering self-control, conflict resolution, coping skills and healthy relationships, supported by counseling and PBIS. Electives fill part of each day: physical education, health, leadership, lifetime fitness, music appreciation and piano lab. Hands-on learning includes a business course run through our school bakery, plus leather work, woodworking, ceramic molding, model home building, electricity and solar power.
