About Edward Stone Middle School

Edward Stone is the 7th and 8th grade building for the Burlington Community School District. Students arrive from Aldo Leopold Intermediate after 6th grade and move on to Burlington High School, so our two grades are the final step before high school.

Middle school athletes compete on separate 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams and run cross country against area schools. Our district supports more than 12 music ensembles, and students can explore clubs through the activities program.

Students who need extra support can access district special education services with a behavior interventionist specialist, Section 504 plans, English language learner programs, and Extended Learning for advanced students. Families also have access to district mental health services and community resources, plus McKinney-Vento assistance for students experiencing homelessness through the YouthNet Collaborative.
