With more than 2,500 students, Portage High School is the high school of Portage Township Schools. Our course catalog runs past 180 offerings, including Advanced Placement, dual credit and career and technology classes, and we have added Project Lead The Way courses. Every student works on a school-issued iPad. Our PHS West building was converted from an open-concept layout into four learning communities designed for group work. Outside class, students choose from more than 60 clubs and 20 athletic teams, plus intramurals and performing arts. The PHS Business Club competes in Business Professionals of America events at the regional, state and national levels, and our JAG program helps students reach their graduation and career goals. Work-based learning lets students take internships, job shadows or jobs for school credit, with some options earning dual credit through Ivy Tech Community College. Five grade counselors assigned by last name, a director of guidance and two social emotional counselors make up our Student Services team.
