Lafayette Academy Preschool is a Christian preschool at 3620 Paoli Pike in Floyds Knobs. It opened in 2007 and serves children ages 3 to 5. About 160 families are enrolled. Classes are led by certified teachers with a full-time assistant in each room. The program follows NAEYC early-childhood guidance and uses play-based academics, daily Bible stories and prayer, outdoor play, and a Minds-in-Motion room. For 2026-27, Early Threes (age 3 by January 1; pull-ups allowed) meet Fridays from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. for $90 a month. Three-year-old classes (age 3 by August 1 and potty trained) include 2-day mornings at $195 a month and 3-day mornings at $255 a month. Lunch Bunch extends a morning class to 1:30 p.m. Kinder Prep (age 4 by August 1) includes 3-day mornings at $235 a month. A new transitional kindergarten is for children who turn 5 by December 1. The first day for 2026-27 is August 10, 2026. The school generally follows the New Albany-Floyd County Schools break calendar. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and visits are by appointment.
