Options with ABA began here in Fishers in the fall of 2019 with nine students, and our Fishers campus remains the program's original home. We built it for middle and high schoolers with autism who need academic instruction and applied behavior analysis therapy in one location. Students follow a split day: ABA therapy in the morning or afternoon with our partner centers, the Behavioral Analysis Center for Autism and the Indiana Behavior Analysis Academy, and three hours in the classroom with Options teachers for the other half. Options uses ABA concepts in teaching but is not itself a therapy provider. Classes are small, and our team includes special education teachers and instructional assistants with years of experience in autism. Life skills run through the curriculum, from self-care routines to running a coffee cart and assembling charcuterie boxes for sale. Options Schools is a free public charter network for grades 6 to 12, accredited by the Indiana Department of Education and AdvancED. Students can work toward a general diploma, the alternate diploma or a certificate of completion. Families meet with the program director before enrolling.
