About Liberty Academy of Columbus
Liberty Academy of Columbus is a private classical school at 1511 22nd Street, inside Columbus Free Methodist Church. It is not a church school and is not a special-education campus. The academy is non-parochial, accredited by the Indiana Department of Education, and uses the Hillsdale College K-12 curriculum with limited classroom technology.
The school opened in 2023 as a K-7 program, added 8th grade in 2024-25, and plans to add one grade each year until it reaches K-12. At maturity it expects 225 students. About 30 new seats are expected for Fall 2026. Athletics have included cross country and basketball. Uniforms are required, with an expected annual cost starting at $150. Transportation is not offered.
