Baker Demonstration School

Central School serves about 500 children in kindergarten through fourth grade who live in the eastern part of Wilmette, as one of the elementary schools of Wilmette Public Schools District 39. Apple named us an Apple Distinguished School for 2023 to 2026, and our staff is trained in differentiated instruction enriched by technology and the arts. Related arts teachers cover PE, library, music, art, technology and Spanish. Our building also has learning behavior specialists, speech pathologists, a school psychologist, an occupational therapist, a social worker, a differentiation support teacher, reading teachers and English language teachers. The PTA runs more than 40 committees and positions, from Art Awareness to Environmental Awareness, and students can join the Green Team or Student Council.

Black Bear Academy is an esteemed therapeutic day school and clinical pediatric practice located in Chicago's Lakeview/North Center neighborhood.
