About Evergreen Park Community High School
Evergreen Park Community High School opened its doors in April 1955 to 176 students and nine teachers, meeting first in a church basement while our building was still under construction. Today we are the single school of District 231, set on about 20 acres and serving the Village of Evergreen Park, with students arriving from District 124 and three local Catholic grade schools.
Our campus has grown to include an auditorium, two gyms, a swimming pool and a Learning Resource Center, and a renovated former racquet and fitness club now serves physical education, athletics and marching band.
Students with IEPs receive a continuum of support, from consultative case management in general classes to co-taught courses with a certified Learning Behavior Specialist and smaller, structured Essentials classes. We employ two full-time social workers, a psychologist and a nurse, and through the AERO Special Education Cooperative we provide speech, occupational and physical therapy and BCBA services. Section 504 plans are available, and we use MTSS to guide interventions.
