Hellenic American Academy is one of the largest Greek-American schools in the United States, teaching a dual-language Greek and English program from preschool through eighth grade in Deerfield. Our day school is recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education, and our problem-based curriculum gives equal weight to academic, social, and emotional growth. Our students compete in science at the Illinois Junior Academy of Science regional and state fairs. Every current eighth grader takes Algebra 1. Students recite the Axios pledge, and our school is grounded in Greek heritage and faith. The Greek Ministry of Education has named us the Midwest examination center for the Ellinomatheia Certificate of Attainment in Greek. Beyond the school day, we run Greek language classes on Saturdays and evenings for preschool through Lyceum levels, including Greek as a second language. Our after school programs cover arts, sciences, and sports, and cultural programs feature Greek drama, dance, and mythology. Children new to Greek culture and returning students alike join our summer camp.

Black Bear Academy is an esteemed therapeutic day school and clinical pediatric practice located in Chicago's Lakeview/North Center neighborhood. Founded in 2003, Black Bear Academy provides intensive therapeutic education and early intervention for children ages 18 months through 10 years with speech-language delays, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and sensory motor challenges. With low 3:1 classroom ratios, the academy bridges the gap between clinical therapy and academic schooling by integrating speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, and academic instruction into a cohesive daily schedule. Black Bear Academy prepares young learners for long-term academic success through structured early childhood, therapeutic kindergarten, and lower elementary classrooms.
