About Montessori Children's Centre
A mother and daughter opened Montessori Children's Centre in 1997, and the same family still leads our school; all three executive directors trained in Montessori education in London. We are a year-round Montessori preschool in Bloomington for children ages 3 to 5, open 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Our three classrooms each have 20 children and two co-teachers. Children work at their own pace with self-correcting materials across the practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics and culture areas, and the year includes foreign language lessons, performances, cultural activities and holiday parties. Our summer camp continues the Montessori curriculum with more outdoor learning and play.
Families choose five, three or two days a week, at $335, $245 or $190 per week, and children need to be 3 and potty trained to start. Parents receive a weekly newsletter, progress reports and conferences. Most openings come up between May and August, and families on our waiting list get the first offer when a spot opens.
