Our preschool meets in a large, separate classroom inside a home in the Terrace Hills subdivision off 3800 E in Rigby, and every class holds 11 children or fewer. Our teacher has worked with children for more than two decades, holds a bachelor's degree in biology and health science, and is pediatric CPR certified. A typical morning opens with the Pledge of Allegiance, then homework review, classroom jobs, calendar, manners, writing, phonics, story time, singing, snack, art and rotations of crafts and games. Children count to 20 in English and Spanish, learn letter sounds in upper and lower case, sign the alphabet and start kindergarten sight words. Families choose a two-hour class from 8:25 to 10:25 a.m. or 10:35 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. The Monday, Wednesday and Friday classes cost $130 a month, with an advanced group for children who already know letters, numbers and how to write their names. Tuesday and Thursday mixed-age classes cost $100 a month, and a five-day option costs $230 a month, plus a $100 registration fee. Extras include community helper visits, VIP days and a graduation program.
