Best Special Needs Schools in Rathdrum, Idaho (2026)

Quest Academy North Idaho is one of more than 300 Acton Academies worldwide, and we follow the same learning design created at the original Acton campus. Children learn in mixed-age studios: Spark for ages 4 to 6, Discovery for ages 7 to 11 and Ascent for ages 11 to 14, with a Launchpad studio for older learners still to come. There are no grades, no homework and no traditional teachers. Guides support each learner, who sets and tracks goals and works toward mastery at their own pace. Spark mornings use Montessori materials, and afternoons bring outdoor play and time with the school's chickens, rabbits and goats. Discovery and Ascent learners build reading, writing and math skills, join Socratic discussions, take on hands-on Quests and present at public exhibitions, and older students pursue apprenticeships. We are a faith-based, nondenominational school under New Life Community Church, and families affirm the Nicene Creed. Tuition runs $5,670 a year for Discovery and $6,300 for Spark, paid over nine months, with sibling and cash discounts.
