About Moscow Charter School

Moscow Charter School is a public charter school for kindergarten through 8th grade in Moscow, Idaho, with a curriculum built around science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Admission is by annual lottery. Subjects are woven together, so a class reading a story also studies the science and setting behind it, and FOSS kits, engineering design projects and the Moscow School District Science Fair keep science hands-on. Advanced students work at their own level in math, and middle schoolers can take IDLA online math courses.

The arts carry real weight here. Every student in K-5 takes music, all students take visual arts, and the whole school writes, casts, designs and performs an end-of-year theater production, with a spring musical staged at Moscow High School. Middle schoolers choose from music, art and PE electives and take health classes.

After school, students can join a Renaissance dance club that performs around the Inland Northwest, a Plant Club that grows ornamental and edible plants in our outdoor raised beds, and the Moscow Charter Amateur Rocketry Society, which builds and launches model rockets at Mountain View Park.

Palouse Hills Day School

Moscow, ID Grades K-8
Multi-grade classrooms Differentiated instruction Christian education

Palouse Hills Christian School is a small Seventh-day Adventist school on Tomer Road in Moscow for students in grades 1 through 8. Our students learn together in multi-grade classrooms led by two teachers, which keeps student-to-teacher ratios low and lets us differentiate instruction. Language arts and math are taught by grade-level skills, while science and social studies follow a multi-grade integrated curriculum. Our accreditation comes from the National Council for Private School Accreditation, and we belong to the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist school network. Christ and the Bible guide our teaching, and the curriculum is built on a creation-based worldview. Students take standardized tests every year, and our classrooms are multicultural. Health is part of daily life here, with daily exercise and lessons on sleep and healthy eating, and students practice serving others both at school and in the community.

Catholic education Service learning Financial aid

St. Mary's Catholic School is part of the ministry of St. Mary's Church in Moscow and follows the philosophy of Idaho Catholic Schools. We serve early childhood students in preschool and prekindergarten along with kindergarten through eighth grade. Each morning begins with an All-School Assembly with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. On a child's birthday or half birthday we offer a blessing, recognize their gifts and talents, and add a book they chose to the library in their name. From kindergarten on, students serve as leaders at the school Mass, where they learn to speak with confidence in front of others. Service is part of our curriculum, and classes work to help people in need locally, across the nation, and around the world. Leadership grows through religion, music, student council, and service activities. Enrollment stays open throughout the year, extended care includes homework time and snacks, and tuition assistance is available with support from the St. Mary's Foundation.
