About Stage of Learning Preschool

Stage of Learning Preschool opened in Meridian in the fall of 2016 to teach children ages 3 to 5 through academics and the arts. Music, singing, dance and art run through our weekly plans alongside reading, math and science, and children perform in winter and spring shows, even painting their own backdrops.

Each class follows a set routine: welcome and circle time, theme-based learning centers in language, math and science, snack, a gross motor activity or special project in our large indoor studios, and a closing story and song. Early literacy covers letter sounds, phonological awareness, sight words and voice to print, and math covers number sense, coins, patterns, sorting, measurement and graphing.

Our 3- to 4-year-old preschool class meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:15 to 11:45 for $180 a month. Our 4- to 5-year-old Pre-Kindergarten class meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:15 to 11:45 or afternoons from 12:45 to 3:15 for $243 a month. Tuition is all-inclusive after a $100 annual registration and supply fee, and we hold no fundraisers. Children must be toilet trained. We also run summer camps.

Challenger School - Meridian

Meridian, ID Grades PreK-8
Phonics-based reading Accelerated academics Logic and programming

Challenger School's Everest campus sits in a quiet suburban neighborhood in Meridian, convenient to both Meridian and Eagle, and teaches children from preschool through eighth grade. Challenger began in 1963 when a public school teacher opened her own preschool to teach phonics, and it opened its first Idaho campus in Boise in 2006. Today we run 27 campuses in five western states. Our preschool mixes phonics-based reading, math, music, art, drama, science and motor-skill activities, and preschool classes perform at Christmas and in the spring. Children may start preschool at age 3 in Idaho. From kindergarten through eighth grade, students study reading, writing, logic, science, programming, speech, history, literature, algebra, geometry and art, and in sixth grade they begin working with teachers who specialize by subject. New kindergarten through eighth-grade applicants visit the campus and take a placement test. The campus is open 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. All-day preschool includes extended care, extended classtime before and after school is available for kindergarten through eighth grade, and we run a summer program. Tuition is charged by the day enrolled, and as an independent nonprofit we do not accept public funds.
