Beacon Christian School, established in 1918, is a private institution dedicated to providing a Christ-centered education for students from kindergarten through ninth grade in the Lewiston, Idaho, and Clarkston, Washington areas. Lewis-Clark Early Childhood Program is a private nonprofit that runs Head Start, Early Head Start and state preschool programs for limited-income families across North Central Idaho and Southeast Washington. Our Lewiston center on 18th Avenue houses our administrative office, Head Start classrooms that meet Monday through Thursday, a full-day, full-year childcare classroom open Monday through Friday, and an Early Head Start classroom. Head Start serves 3 and 4 year olds, and Early Head Start supports expectant mothers and families with children from birth to age 3. Teachers use The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, built around hands-on, project-based studies. Children with disabilities or suspected delays receive the same services as all enrolled children, plus screening, development of an Individual Education Plan and support moving into their school district. We also provide medical, dental and mental health services and family support, and parents serve on our Policy Council.
