Kidovations began in 2003, when Jeff and Tina Banks cared for three children in a home daycare in Statesboro. Our center near Georgia Southern University now serves infants as young as 6 weeks up through 12-year-olds, on weekdays between 6:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Classrooms are grouped by developmental stage, from infant and toddler rooms through preschool, Georgia Pre-K and kindergarten, with after-school care and summer camp for children 4 to 12. Our STEAM curriculum and Phenomenal Learning Program mix hands-on projects, field trips and group work with literacy, math, music and movement. Children can learn Spanish, sign language or Japanese and take tumbling classes. We serve breakfast, a morning snack, lunch and dinner in a nut-free facility, and Christian values and daily prayers are part of the day. We welcome children with autism. Our caregivers receive ongoing training in positive behavior support, sensory awareness and communication strategies, and we use visual schedules, transition warnings, picture cards and quieter spaces when a child needs them. Families can share IEPs or therapy plans at enrollment, and we collaborate with outside therapists. Biometric entry admits only authorized parents and staff.

Bulloch County Schools' Transitions Learning Center gives students in grades 6 through 12 an alternative path when a traditional campus is not working for them. Students come to us by referral, and each student and parent or guardian completes an intake interview and agrees to the program's structured terms before starting a modified school day. We follow the district calendar. Our Statesboro building works like a smaller traditional school, with a main office, cafeteria, eight certified teachers and about 128 students. Coursework is individualized and competency-based through Edgenuity, which students use for initial credit, credit recovery or to move ahead. Every student has a computer at an individual workstation, teachers run lessons on Promethean ActivPanels, and math and science students have graphing calculators. When a student arrives, our administrator, counselor and teachers review the plan sent by the home school, including test scores, attendance, credits earned and any special education accommodations. A full-time counselor and a Social-Emotional Learning Specialist lead small groups and individual sessions built on the CASEL competencies, and the counselor helps each student prepare to return to their home school.
