The Dreamers' School of North Georgia is a part-time, Waldorf-inspired enrichment program for homeschooled children ages 4 to 13. Students are dropped off on Thursdays, Fridays or both, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in space we rent from St. Mary and St. Martha of Bethany Episcopal Church in Buford. Our sister school in Orlando opened in 2015. Classes are grouped by age, and each group follows an arts-integrated rhythm that grows with the children. Four- and five-year-olds spend the day in circle time, imaginative and nature play, gardening, yoga, crafts and fairy-tale language arts, and we hold formal reading, including letter recognition, until first grade. Our oldest class studies medieval history through the Age of Exploration in main lessons, plays the recorder, works math puzzles and plans a community service project each week. Families keep their own home curriculum, whether Waldorf, eclectic, virtual or boxed, and use our days as enrichment or as part of their plan. Tuition is $175 a month for one day or $325 for both. Teachers lead art and handwork, cooking, gardening and yoga, and a summer camp runs for ages 5 to 12.
