The Link School

Rebecca Sartain founded The Link School in 2014 because her autistic son needed a place to learn in ways that fit him. Today we serve students in kindergarten through 12th grade who learn differently, and our founder and director is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and an autism spectrum and ADHD clinical specialist.

Each student has an individualized learning plan that teachers build with the student and parents, setting specific academic goals and strategies. We teach reading and writing with the Orton-Gillingham approach and math with Saxon Math, and our teachers include certified special educators. Students also take art, music and physical education, and our life skills teacher covers shopping, cooking, cleaning, sewing and getting along in the community.

We keep a low teacher-to-student ratio, so there is sometimes a waiting list. Families start by attending one of four annual information sessions, then submit an application with transcripts. Our admissions committee reviews each file and invites good fits for two shadow days before making an enrollment decision.
