About Better Life Academy
Better Life Academy in Sumterville, Florida, is a dedicated exceptional student education (ESE) day school established in 2018 to empower individuals with moderate to severe intellectual, developmental, and multiple disabilities across Central Florida. Serving children and young adults from kindergarten through age 22, Better Life Academy maintains a low 4:1 student-to-staff ratio with dedicated 1-on-1 paraprofessional support available. The academy focuses on functional academics, augmentative communication, sensory regulation, and comprehensive daily living skills. With dedicated life-skills simulation suites, sensory rooms, and community-based vocational training partnerships, students learn essential self-care, social pragmatics, and vocational skills in an atmosphere of dignity and encouragement.
