Educational Harbor Christian School
Educational Harbor opened in January 2016 with three students and one teacher in Palmetto. We now teach grades 1 through 12 in small classes capped at 10 students in elementary, 12 in middle school and 14 in high school, and most high school classes average 8 to 10. Our classical, mastery-based program draws on Abeka, Apologia, BJU Press and the Institute for Excellence in Writing, along with full-length classic and modern novels, and daily Bible study runs through every grade. Students advance once they show mastery, so 8th graders take at least two high school courses and high schoolers follow a college-style block schedule of three courses per semester, with dual enrollment open to eligible students. Shorter Fridays center on critical thinking, study skills and Junior Achievement leadership. After-school enrichments have included archery, VEX competitive robotics and art, and high schoolers join S.H.A.R.E. Bradenton for field trips, prom and graduation. We do not offer VPK or kindergarten. Educational Harbor Christian School is best suited to academically capable, self-motivated students. Families can use Florida Tax Credit and FES-EO scholarships, both administered by Step Up For Students.
