North Broward Academy of Excellence

Home of the Panthers, Imagine School North Lauderdale teaches kindergarten through fifth grade as a public charter in the Imagine Schools network. Every student belongs to one of four houses, Isibindi, Amistad, Reveur and Altruismo, and each house stands for character traits such as kindness, bravery, perseverance and integrity that we teach all year. We are also a Power of Positivity Project campus. Classrooms are technology-rich, and enrichment includes hip-hop dance, art and P.E. Third through fifth graders can attend our FAST Boot Camp, and our partner Firewall Centers runs a daily after-school program with reading tutoring, social-emotional lessons and STEAM projects. Tuition is free, and so are lunch, transportation and school supplies. Our clubs give students room to try new things: competitive cheerleading, basketball and the Imagineers dance team, a fine arts club with choir, acting and music, a fitness club open to every grade, Girls Who Code, a book club for advanced readers, chess, crochet, gardening, and leadership clubs for girls and for boys.

Somerset Preparatory Academy Charter School at North Lauderdale teaches kindergarten through 12th grade on one campus on Kimberly Boulevard, so a child can start in elementary school and graduate from our high school. We are a public charter school, and our curriculum follows Florida standards in math, reading, science and social studies, with Promethean interactive boards in classrooms. High school students can take Pre-AP coursework, dual enrollment classes for college credit and an ECG and Emergency Medical Responder program with hands-on healthcare training. Our free Saturday Camp helps students raise grades and prepare for exams, college advisors guide applications and financial aid, and the Boys to Men program pairs students with mentors. Students with an IEP receive ESE services through our ESE specialist, and gifted students follow the goals on their gifted IEP. Hurricanes teams include cross country, volleyball, basketball, soccer, track and field, girls flag football and baseball, and clubs range from drama, dance, choir and glee to student government and yearbook. Before Care opens at 7:00 a.m. and After Care runs until 6:00 p.m.
