About Red Apple School
Red Apple Adult Training Center is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on empowering adults with developmental disabilities, aged 18 and older. Since its inception in 1996, the center has served approximately 140 students at its two campuses in New Port Richey, Florida. The mission of Red Apple is to foster individual potential through a variety of educational and experiential activities that enhance life skills, social interactions, and independent living capabilities. The center caters to individuals with diagnoses such as intellectual disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and other mobility challenges.
The programs at Red Apple are designed to be engaging and enriching, incorporating educational activities in subjects like reading, writing, math, and science alongside practical life skills training that includes cooking and self-care. Community outings provide valuable experiences that promote social engagement and real-world learning opportunities. The staff of over 40 trained professionals is committed to providing personalized support tailored to each student's unique needs.
What sets Red Apple apart is its low student-to-teacher ratio and the strong emphasis on family partnerships. The center actively involves families in the learning process and fosters a supportive community atmosphere. Additionally, plans for expanding the Jefferson campus include the introduction of a sensory room designed to further enhance the therapeutic experience for students. Through these initiatives, Red Apple Adult Training Center not only educates but also enriches the lives of its students and their families.
