Achievement Academy is a dedicated educational institution that has been serving children with developmental delays and disabilities for over 68 years. As a non-profit charter school, its core mission is to provide early intervention, education, therapy, and family support to children with special needs or those at risk for developmental delays, ensuring they achieve their maximum potential. The Academy offers two primary programs: the Birth to Three early intervention program and the ESE Charter PreK. The Birth to Three Program provides in-home early intervention services for infants and toddlers up to three years of age who are at risk for developmental delays or have specific diagnoses. Professional early interventionists work with families in their natural environments to help children reach their developmental milestones. The ESE Charter PreK serves children aged 18 months to five years across three campus locations"”Lakeland, Winter Haven, and Bartow. This program features specialized instruction by certified teachers, small class sizes, and individualized therapies, including speech, occupational, and physical therapy, as well as the use of assistive technologies tailored to each child's needs. Smaller classes shape the school day at our South Lakeland K-12 campus. We use a structured support model for students who need a different school experience. CES Academy holds Cognia accreditation, and we accept Florida school-choice scholarships. Sparrow Academy is a private K to 12 school in Lakeland built on the idea that learning and healing belong together. We serve neurodivergent students and students with specific disabilities, children who have been through trauma or serious hardship, and kids who simply do better in a calmer, smaller setting. Enrollment is capped at 175 students, and no class is larger than 12. Our trauma-informed faculty are trained to recognize and respond to the signs of trauma, and daily routines put emotional regulation and life skills alongside academics. The Exceptional Student Education team includes a behavior specialist, ESE teachers and paraprofessionals, and life skills teachers work at both the elementary and middle/high levels. A reading interventionist, tutors and a student mentor add support, while older students take English, history, math, science and Spanish with subject teachers. K to 12 tuition is $11,900 a year, with separate rates for our Choice/behavioral program and for ESE students based on level of need. We accept all Florida-approved scholarships. For an added fee, children can arrive as early as 6:45 a.m. and stay as late as 6 p.m.
