About Norwich Transition Academy
Norwich Transition Academy is where Norwich Public Schools students ages 18 to 22 make the move from high school student to working, independent adult. Every student has a personalized learning plan, and our program centers on four areas: advocacy, community living, employment and daily living skills.
Job coaches support students at real work sites, including Big Y, Goodwill, Mohegan Sun, Chick-fil-A, Papa Gino's Pizzeria and Norwich Public Schools itself. Each student builds a vocational plan from their own interests and abilities and practices resume writing, interviewing and the people skills that keep a job.
At our Case Street building, students plan and prepare meals, do laundry and iron as part of the daily routine, and work on money skills, budgeting and safe internet use. Out in Norwich, they learn to ride public transportation, handle banking, plan leisure activities, meet adult service providers and tour local housing options.

Kelly STEAM Magnet Middle School
Kelly STEAM Magnet Middle School builds its program around the theme Design & The Arts in the 21st Century. Science, technology, engineering, arts and math run through an interdisciplinary, project-based curriculum set inside a standards-based core, and students work on real-world problems to see how subjects connect. We favor exploration over early specialization, so students try many areas and uncover their talents before narrowing down. Hands-on labs for media, coding and robotics, science and music sit alongside a theater and auditorium, and students stage performances for the Norwich community during the school year, which also teaches them the value of giving back. Our school on Mahan Drive is part of Norwich Public Schools. A parent-teacher organization supports Kelly activities, students use the school library, and athletics follow the district's shared Norwich Public Schools athletics calendar.
Montessori Discovery School
Montessori Discovery School in Norwich welcomes children from 18 months through age 12. Toddlers, primary students, and first- through sixth-graders learn in Montessori programs led by head teachers with credentials from MACTE-accredited training programs. In the elementary classroom, younger and older students work together on projects, study Spanish, and explore gardens while caring for the school's llamas. Teachers guide individual and group work across language, math, history, science, and cultural studies. Before- and after-school care and vacation programs extend the day for enrolled students. Summer programs also welcome children from the wider community.
