Other Schools in Johnstown, CO
Elwell Elementary School
At Elwell Elementary in Johnstown, classroom projects carry students through the school year. Fifth graders share their work with the school community, while families use campus calendars, supply lists, and handbooks to plan each term.
New Horizons Academy Preschool
A preschool match through Colorado's Universal Preschool program gives eligible families a route into New Horizons Academy Preschool in Johnstown. We also offer open enrollment for children who do not qualify for Universal Preschool. Families accepting their match then complete our school registration packet. We need their registration records, immunization information and a current health examination before the child begins attending. We also share a school calendar, supply information and the family handbook during enrollment. Morning classes meet Monday through Friday, while afternoon classes run Tuesday through Thursday. Our teaching team includes educators who have worked at New Horizons since 2003 and 2007. Play and learning guide the classroom work, with paints, markers and hands-on materials among the supplies children use. We plan those experiences to help children enjoy learning and develop familiarity with school routines. Families can consider the morning and afternoon choices as they arrange preschool attendance, with different days available for the two sessions. Spaces follow a first-come enrollment process. Once classes fill, we maintain a waiting list for children whose families want an available space.
Pioneer Ridge Elementary School
A sensory hallway runs through Pioneer Ridge Elementary, giving students a place to walk, move or breathe deeply when they need a break before heading back to class. We serve kindergarten through fifth grade in Johnstown as part of the Weld RE-5J school district. Our school counselor, who taught fourth grade at Pioneer Ridge for 12 years, teaches classroom lessons, runs small groups and works one on one with students on social, emotional, academic and career development. Students in grades 3 to 5 can join our after-school STEM and Lego Club, and families return in the evening for PRE Reading Night. In October we hold Red Ribbon and Bully Prevention Week, and our PTO meets at the school. District bus routes and meal service support families through the year, and we share family information in English and Spanish.
