Denver Academy
School profile
Overview
Denver Academy inspires and empowers a diverse group of learners through student-centered, differentiated, and transformative education. Founded in 1972, we sit on a 21-acre campus in Denver and welcome bright students in grades 2 through 12 whose learning profiles look a little different, including dyslexia, ADHD, and executive functioning differences.
Through in-depth diagnostic analysis and comprehensive evaluation, we uncover each student's learning style and build a unique learning profile that guides their instruction. With small classes of roughly 12 to 15 students, our expert faculty deliver a curriculum customized for the individual and the classroom, supported by assistive technology and our Campos SmartLabs for science, math, art, robotics, and technology.
We value each child's differences and strengths as much as their families do. In a non-judgmental environment grounded in respect, responsibility, and community, students build confidence, discover that learning can be fun, and graduate ready for college and beyond.

Bansbach Academy (Denver Children's Home)
At Denver Children's Home, Bansbach Academy serves as a key component in the holistic care of children and teens, offering a therapeutic, educational environment that promotes both academic achievement and personal growth. Accredited by AdvancED and the Colorado Department of Education, we integrate core academics with programs designed to support social-emotional development, self-sufficiency, leadership, and character building. Classes are intentionally kept small, with an average of 8 to 10 students, enabling personalized attention from our special education teachers, who work alongside Youth Treatment Counselors so each student receives tailored support. Students participate in core academic subjects including math, language arts, social studies, science, health, and physical education, while also engaging in programs that promote life skills and character development. Our goal is to equip students with the academic skills, social-emotional tools, and coping strategies they need to succeed in a public-school setting and beyond. Through individualized instruction, therapeutic support such as equine, art, and music therapy, and hands-on learning experiences, we help students build a foundation for future success, both academically and personally.
