About Phoenix Academy at Southern Peaks
Phoenix Academy is the accredited school program of Southern Peaks Regional Treatment Center, a licensed Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) with a Therapeutic Designation from the State of Colorado. The school serves adolescents ages 10 to 18, in grades 5 through 12, who have significant emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric needs.
Education is delivered within an interdisciplinary, client-centered model that brings together the adolescent, family, nursing, therapy, education, psychiatry, and the placing school district. Many students have histories of complex trauma, and treatment includes evidence-based approaches such as TF-CBT, DBT, EMDR, equine-assisted therapy, and co-occurring substance use care.
Southern Peaks offers both sub-acute and acute levels of psychiatric care and partners with families, school districts, and placing agencies across Colorado to help each young person stabilize and successfully return to a less restrictive setting.
