HOPE Academy is a distinctive educational institution located in Arvada, dedicated to serving students from Kindergarten through 12th Grade, including both traditional and non-traditional learners. Nurtured by Nature Outdoor Exploratory School is an Arvada forest school that runs entirely outdoors for children ages 4 to 7. There is no classroom building to retreat to: students spend the day outside with branches, rocks, logs, bark and dirt as their materials, and they follow the Jefferson County school district calendar for holidays and weather closures. Play is the curriculum. Children get several hours of free, child-led play each day, which we use to build early literacy, oral language, reasoning and social skills like negotiating and compromising. Between free play blocks, students join a large group game and a structured, teacher-led activity every day. Families choose a school-year program, full day or morning only, two, three or five days a week. School-year tuition runs from $304 per month for two mornings to $1,527 per month for five full days. Shorter fall, winter and spring sessions suit part-time preschool or kindergarten students, winter birthdays and homeschool families who want more hands-on outdoor time with peers. We also run a summer camp and all-outdoor break camps during fall break and Thanksgiving week.

Two Roads Charter School’s Arvada campus serves preschool through high school at 6980 Pierce Street. For students with disabilities, the school provides special-education support guided by each student’s IEP, including direct instruction, co-teaching, consultation and modified materials. Two Roads also serves English learners. School and IEP teams decide whether the Arvada campus can provide the services a student needs; some students may need a different placement.
