Scholarship Prep - South Bay

Our Wilmington campus serves students from transitional kindergarten through 8th grade as a tuition-free public charter school, and in October 2026 LAUSD unanimously renewed our charter for five more years. Each classroom is named for a university such as UCLA, Harvard or Stanford, and college visits, career events and financial literacy lessons start early.

Students learn through problem-based lessons, and every Friday brings hands-on STEM work. Teachers use assessment data to plan small-group instruction. Electives in arts and athletics run alongside the core program, and after-school clubs include basketball, esports, dance, music lab and drum line.

Our network was founded to serve all students, with particular attention to children experiencing homelessness or living in out-of-home care. Teachers and staff are trauma trained. Families receive free breakfast and lunch, free before and after school care, individual and group counseling, Chromebooks with hotspots, school supplies, laundry service and seasonal intersession programs during breaks.
