Walnut Park Middle School

Seven periods in the school day give our Walnut Park Middle School students access to electives, intervention and enrichment. We use that schedule at the Social Justice and Service Learning campus to make room for Social Justice, AVID, robotics and the arts alongside standards-based academic learning. Students investigate ideas, exercise their voice and prepare for high school through those different parts of the program.

Our campus holds AVID National Demonstration School status and a California PBIS Silver Award. Restorative practices and recognition systems support relationships and belonging, with clear expectations for students' participation in school. Those approaches run alongside the academic preparation we provide for college and careers.

Families can participate in school workshops and use our technology, special education and event resources. We also connect them with LAUSD information about health, food, housing, transportation and other practical needs. Technology support and special education information are available through our school resources, alongside school event details and opportunities to participate in workshops.
