About North Mountain Middle School

About 845 Huskies attend North Mountain Middle School on East Seventh Street in San Jacinto, part of San Jacinto Unified School District. We are an AVID school, so organization and study habits run through every class, and our departments cover English, math, science, social studies, Spanish and special education, with a six-person special education team. Students have two technology devices each, and our library media center is open for reading and research.

Music is a big part of campus life: our band program includes four bands, two percussion ensembles and a choir. Husky athletes compete in the Valley League in girls volleyball, cross country, cheer and flag football in the fall, soccer and basketball in the winter, and boys volleyball, girls soccer and track and field in the spring. Students also run activities through ASB.

Three school counselors and a licensed vocational nurse support students, and we use PBIS schoolwide. Tutoring is available through an online program and the Talent Search Program. Our free Expanded Learning after school program runs until 6 p.m. with a snack, homework time, STEAM projects, art, coding clubs and outdoor sports.

Alpha Omega School and online academy

San Jacinto, CA Grades K-12
Christian education Homeschool independent study Online learning

Since 1988, Alpha Omega has helped Christian families in the San Jacinto area and beyond educate their children at home. We run a K-12 home school and independent study program, along with an online academy where students learn from anywhere, and high schoolers can earn a diploma online or through print-based mail correspondence. Each enrolled student receives a personally designed curriculum, delivered monthly either online or as books, plus teacher guides, achievement testing, and grading and transcript services. Parents lead instruction at home, which lets a student work one on one and move ahead as quickly as they master the material. We also offer an online GED test prep course. We see ourselves as a partner to parents, who we believe carry the God-given responsibility for raising their children. For students who need extra help, our in-house tutors meet with children Monday through Friday and some Saturdays at $30 per hour. Our school year begins in mid-August, and we accept applications throughout the year.

Clayton A Record Elementary

San Jacinto, CA Grades PreK-5
Gifted and talented PBIS AVID

Clayton A. Record, Jr. Elementary opened in September 2004 and is named for a lifelong local resident and dairy owner who served on the school district, county and Eastern Municipal Water District boards. Our campus has earth-tone classroom pods, a covered lunch area, a multipurpose room and a library, and we serve about 537 students from transitional kindergarten through 5th grade in the San Jacinto Unified School District. Every student belongs to one of our four school houses. Third through fifth graders can sing in the Record choir, and 4th and 5th graders can join band, orchestra, the yearbook club or the student leadership team that produces daily news videos and organizes community service projects. Everyone can use the library Makerspace with coding technology, a Lego wall and computer building, and our PE teacher runs intramural games at lunch. We use PBIS schoolwide and offer AVID and a school counselor. GATE services are built into the regular school day, with gifted screening for all third graders, and families can enroll in OASIS, the district's after school program.

Monte Vista Middle School

San Jacinto, CA Grades 6-8
AVID college readiness Public school

Our building on North Lyon Avenue opened in 1937 as San Jacinto's first high school. It became Monte Vista Middle School in 1966, served grades 5 and 6 for several years, and reopened as a 6th through 8th grade middle school in 2005. Today about 830 Bobcats attend, coming from Clayton Record, San Jacinto, Megan Cope and De Anza elementary schools. Monte Vista is part of the San Jacinto Unified School District. We offer AVID college readiness, a library and technology center, and ASB student leadership and yearbook. Each grade has its own counselor, who teaches classroom lessons in academic, social-emotional and college and career skills and runs small groups for students who need more support. An educational therapist is also on our counseling team. Our Expanded Learning program keeps students on campus after school. Bobcat athletes compete through the year: co-ed cross country, girls volleyball, co-ed flag football and cheer in fall; boys and girls basketball, boys soccer and cheer in winter; and girls soccer, boys volleyball and co-ed track and field in spring. Families join events such as Loteria Night.
