Best Special Needs Schools in Ripon, California (2026)

Since 2004, California Online Public Schools has run a tuition-free, WASC-accredited independent study program for students in transitional kindergarten through 12th grade. Our Ripon office serves families in the Central Valley and Monterey Bay regions, and more than 400 credentialed teachers teach students across the state. Younger students spend 17 to 25 hours a week on lessons, mostly on a computer with some offline work, and middle schoolers put in at least 30 hours. We enroll students with IEPs: after enrollment the team holds an interim IEP meeting and builds a plan that fits independent study, with the parent as primary instructor. Required live sessions with a special education teacher and services such as speech, occupational therapy and physical therapy are scheduled into the week. We also support students on 504 plans and are a partner of the El Dorado Charter SELPA. English learners get grade-level coordinators, and a school social worker supports families. Students join clubs, field trips and regional fall festivals.
