Fountainhead Montessori School of Pleasant Hill

Fountainhead Montessori School began in 1972 with six children in a remodeled barn, started by a former public school special education teacher, and our Pleasant Hill campus on Oak Park Boulevard is one of three in the Bay Area. We are a private, nonprofit, nondenominational Montessori preschool and a member of the American Montessori Society.

Toddler/Prep classes serve children 18 months to 2.5 years, and our Primary preschool serves ages 2.5 to 6 in mixed-age classrooms built for three years of growth. Children work with Montessori practical life, sensorial, language, math and science materials, with music and science classes and a snack included. Pleasant Hill also offers Spanish and Mandarin immersion in the afternoon program, and no toilet training is required.

Families choose part-time or full-time schedules, three to five days a week, with before and after care from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. billed only for the time used. Tuition is paid in 12 monthly installments with no application, materials or enrollment fees and no fundraising requirement. Most of our head teachers have more than 10 years of Montessori classroom experience.
