Maverick Center for Dyslexia

We teach students ages 5 and older in Fresno who have dyslexia and other nontraditional learning profiles. At Maverick Center, instruction is organized around skills rather than fixed grade levels. Students work through seminars and demonstrate learning through projects and oral presentations.

Each student receives two individual Barton Reading and Spelling System sessions per week. Our language-arts work draws on Orton-Gillingham-based structured literacy, and students also practice public speaking and computer applications. Audiobooks and other resources support access to course material.
