Live Oak Elementary School

Live Oak Elementary is a full inclusion school: students with and without IEPs learn together in the same classrooms, with individualized support built in. We serve transitional kindergarten through 6th grade in the Castaic Union School District, home of the Leopards. Our Learning Center provides intervention groups for every grade based on assessment data each unit. It is staffed by Teachers on Special Assignment in math and English language arts plus six instructional assistants, including bilingual staff who support English learners. Every student receives visual art instruction in our art room, and artist residencies bring music, percussion, dance, drama and mime to campus. Students also stage a musical theater production with two performances each year and can take enrichment classes in gardening, cooking, soccer, creative writing and STEM. We use Capturing Kids' Hearts and PBIS, our PTA is active, and RISE runs our after-school program.
