Saint Mark's School

Saint Mark's School is an independent Episcopal school for children from preschool, starting at two years and nine months, through sixth grade. We give social and emotional growth the same weight as academics and use the Responsive Classroom framework from preschool through grade 6.

Preschoolers split their day between indoors and outdoors, climbing, gardening, digging in sand and building with loose parts. From developmental kindergarten through second grade, a six-day rotation covers literacy, math, writing and theme studies, plus science, Spanish, technology, music, art, library and physical education. Grades 3 to 6 follow an inquiry-based curriculum, fifth and sixth graders rotate among subject teachers, older students serve through our Student Leadership Council, and field studies trips begin in fourth grade. We guide each family through middle school placement.

Extended Care runs from 7:30 a.m. and after dismissal until 6:00 p.m., with study hall, games and after-school enrichment classes. Tuition for 2026-27 runs from $10,950 for three-day preschool to $27,750 for grades 3 to 6, and tuition assistance reaches more than 30 percent of our students.
