Freedom Christian Academy - Yuma

Our charter high school primarily serves Yuma County students ages 16–21 who need to recover credits toward graduation. We offer a supportive learning environment with instruction designed around students’ progress and preparation for their next steps. Teachers build relationships with students and provide ongoing academic support. Social-emotional learning and counseling resources are part of our school’s support system. The Educational Opportunity Center Charter High School is accredited by Cognia.

Flex It is a private school dedicated to transforming the educational experience for students with special needs, specifically those on the autism spectrum, from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The school's core mission revolves around providing personalized learning programs tailored to each child's unique interests and learning abilities, fostering critical thinking and a lifelong love for learning. Flex It employs evidence-based practices supported by extensive research from reputable organizations such as the National Autism Center and the National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorder. Happy Trails has been in child care in Yuma since 1990, running a full day educational program for working parents from infancy through school age at 11607 South Fortuna Road, with a second site, Desert Trails Learning Center, on West 19th Street. Daily schedules include phonics, music, reading, writing, arts and crafts, games, dramatic play, science, and math, in individual child-directed classrooms where each child moves at their own pace. Happy Trails is state licensed and DES approved, is on the USDA food program, and participates in First Things First and the Early Inclusion Program through the Blake Foundation and Easter Seals. A state certified teacher is on staff, all staff are CPR and First Aid certified with fingerprint clearance cards, and everyone completes at least 20 hours of continuing education each year.
