Sprayberry Education Center

Multiple-needs classrooms known as Sprayberry Center sit inside Lloyd Wood Education Center, a Tuscaloosa County School System campus at 2300 26th Avenue in Northport, alongside Pre-K, GRAD Academy, and ELEVATE. Sprayberry employs three multiple-needs teachers, and each class has two paraeducators. Students may need support with speech, physical mobility, learning, developmental delay, vision, hearing, brain injury, sensory losses, or behavior and social skills. More complex needs can include cerebral palsy, severe autism, and brain injuries, and many students at the center are medically complex. Classrooms include music time, weekly music therapy with a UA student, academics, gym, and time in the motor room for physical and occupational therapy. Teachers follow a physical therapy or occupational therapy goal for each child. Students join school events such as the Fall Festival, a Valentine's Day celebration, Tailgating with the Stars, and an art show.
