A neuropsychological assessment is a formal, comprehensive evaluation of cognitive abilities. A psychoeducational assessment focuses on intellectual and academic functioning and is often requested when a learning disability or attention problem is suspected, since results help determine whether someone qualifies for accommodations and resources at school. Intelligence assessments measure general intellectual functioning, often called IQ.
