Healing Waters Counseling Center - Abingdon

Our psychological assessment service addresses questions about intellectual, academic, social and emotional functioning. We use standardized intelligence and academic tests, interviews, questionnaires, observation and a review of earlier evaluation records. Assessment takes several sessions, and for children it can include a visit to the classroom. Families receive a written report plus feedback meetings, with recommendations and referrals when more services are needed. We also provide autism assessments, psychiatric services and counseling at offices across Southwestern Virginia, and by telehealth.
