Alternative Paths Training School Fredericksburg Campus is a VAISEF-accredited day school in Stafford County (Fredericksburg address) serving up to 129 students ages 5 through 22. The school serves students with autism, intellectual disability, emotional disability, developmental delay, multiple disabilities, hearing impairment, orthopedic impairment, and deaf-blindness. Part of the APTS network, which also operates campuses in Alexandria and Manassas. Students are placed through IEP processes.

Elite Academy in Fredericksburg (Spotsylvania County) is a VAISEF-accredited day school serving up to 60 students ages 5 through 22 in kindergarten through 12th grade with autism, emotional disability, intellectual disability, developmental delay, and other health impairments. The school is affiliated with Elk Hill and provides individualized therapeutic programming. Students are placed through IEP processes. A summer program is available.

In Fredericksburg, Rivermont School Fredericksburg layers a K-12 academic program with on-site Therapeutic Academic and Behavioral Support, Licensed School Therapist, and Licensed Behavior Analyst for students placed by their Virginia school division. Families can reach the campus at 540.645.5798. Rivermont's Virginia day-school network is Cognia- and VAISEF-accredited, with credits earned at any campus fully transferable. Rivermont campuses graduate Virginia diploma-track students whose IEPs cannot be met by their home district alone.
