Autism FYI Org

Autism FYI is a Bowie-based nonprofit focused on safety, inclusion, and independence for autistic people and their families across Prince George's County. Rather than clinical ABA sessions, the team trains first responders, educators, and community partners on respectful communication and recognition during emergencies.

Programs include a 24-hour hotline for emergency personnel, safety products that make autistic individuals easier to locate in crisis, and workshops that build local awareness. Partnerships with businesses and neighbors aim to prevent misunderstandings before they escalate.

Families use Autism FYI when they need systemic community support, professional education, and practical safety tools beyond what a single therapy room can offer.

Provide training to law enforcement officers, correctional officers, public defenders, teachers and assistants, nurses and physicians, businesses, restaurants, and community organizations, on how Autism , Schizophrenia and IDD individuals can be embraced safely and effectively while making a difference.
