The Institute of Community Services, Inc. (ICS) is dedicated to fostering the academic and social development of preschool children, particularly those facing significant challenges. Serving children in Benton, Clay, Desoto, Grenada, Lafayette, Lowndes, Marshall, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, and Tunica counties since 1965, ICS provides essential Head Start and Early Head Start programs aimed at enhancing language development and preparing children for future educational success. The curriculum emphasizes critical skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies to ensure a smooth transition into kindergarten. With a strong commitment to family engagement and community involvement, ICS operates 22 centers across Northern Mississippi that feature tailored programs and resources designed to meet the unique needs of each child. What sets ICS apart is its focus on low student-to-teacher ratios and comprehensive support services that empower families while cultivating a nurturing environment where children can thrive.
