Sumner County Special Needs Collaborative

The Sumner County Special Needs Collaborative (SCSNC) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with special needs, disabilities, or neurodivergence in Sumner County. Founded in June 2020 by a passionate advocate and mother of a child with Hydrocephalus and Autism, SCSNC aims to provide essential information and resources while fostering community connections among families, individuals, and professionals. Serving a diverse range of ages and diagnoses, SCSNC focuses on empowering families through education about rights and available support systems. The organization offers innovative programs such as the Regional Special Needs Expo, local resource directories, and the Care for the Caregivers initiative aimed at supporting those who care for others. Unique to SCSNC is its commitment to collaboration; with no paid staff and a volunteer Board of Directors, every contribution directly supports programming that builds community ties and enhances accessibility.
