About Florida Connections Academy
From our school office in Temple Terrace, Florida Connections Academy runs a tuition-free online public school open to K-12 students anywhere in Florida. State-certified teachers who specialize in online learning lead teacher-led and self-guided lessons in Pearson's online classroom, and a parent or other caregiver works alongside each student as a Learning Coach. Families pay only typical school costs such as supplies and optional in-person field trips.
Students can work ahead within the current semester, and high schoolers can take honors and Advanced Placement courses, recover credit in core subjects, and earn college credit through dual enrollment with the University of South Florida or Miami Dade College. We also offer a gifted and talented program, college and career readiness opportunities, service-learning hours toward Bright Futures requirements, and a high school yearbook and signing event.
For students with IEPs, our special education services include consultation, curriculum accommodations and modifications, direct instruction, and collaboration between teachers and Learning Coaches, with related services as each IEP team determines. Connections Education, which operates our program, is accredited by Cognia.
