School profile

Overview

Southeast Academy High School stands as a pioneering institution in California, dedicated to serving students with a focus on military and law enforcement education. Catering to high school students, the academy's core mission is to foster leadership and prepare cadets for both college and career pathways, ensuring they are equipped to excel in their chosen fields. The school employs a comprehensive curriculum that emphasizes academic rigor alongside character development, resulting in an impressive 100% graduation rate.

Southeast Academy utilizes innovative teaching methodologies and programs that integrate real-world experiences, allowing students to engage in hands-on learning that enhances their understanding of military and law enforcement principles. The academy's commitment to individualized attention is reflected in its low student-teacher ratio, which promotes meaningful interactions and personalized support for each cadet.

What truly sets Southeast Academy apart is its unique status as the only stand-alone free public military and law enforcement high school in California, creating a distinctive educational environment. The school not only prioritizes academic excellence but also fosters strong family partnerships and community involvement, ensuring that students are supported both in and out of the classroom. Through specialized facilities and a variety of community events, Southeast Academy cultivates a sense of belonging and purpose, empowering students to thrive as future leaders.

Southeast Academy High School is not a scared straight program or a boot camp. Cadets who attend Southeast Academy High School (SEA) will go through an interview process. All students are eligible to apply to attend SEA, including students not from NLMUSD. Eligibility for SEA does not mean the student is accepted; admission to SEA is a process into a specialized Career and College ready high school, in which all students must agree to attend. Admission into SEA is based on an interview with the candidate and Parent/Guardian. During the interview with the Director the candidate must show a willingness to attend SEA. The Director will view their academics, discipline, and attendance reports.
