New Day Program by New Beginning for Special Needs

New Day Program is a community-based day program in Norwood, Bergen County, for autistic adults age 21 and older. We are open year-round from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and provide day habilitation services certified by the New Jersey Department of Developmental Disabilities. Participants receive services funded through Medicaid. Each person's Individualized Program Plan sets measurable goals for daily-living skills and personal achievement. Our team builds structured life-skills practice and community engagement around those goals, helping participants strengthen their independent abilities. Activities include community-based work and volunteer opportunities, leisure and recreation, and a strong physical-activity component. We aim to make each day warm, engaging, and connected to the participant's own goals and interests. New Day opened in August 2021 and is operated by New Beginning for Special Needs, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2016 by parents of children with special needs.
