Alpha School LLC

Alpha School has served New Jersey students with special needs and their families since 1980, working with children ages 5 through 21 at its Jackson Township campus. As a state-approved private special education school, Alpha serves students classified with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, communication impairment, specific learning disabilities, social and emotional disabilities, multiple disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and other health impairments, including medically fragile students. Academic instruction runs alongside speech-language, occupational, and physical therapy, counseling, behavior plans, and social work, while career education and job skills classes prepare older students for life after graduation. Physical education, health, yoga, and drama fill out the week, and a therapy dog works with students during sessions. Staff turnover is low, which gives students the same familiar faces year to year. Placement begins with a tour and classroom observation alongside parents and case managers, followed by an initial IEP.
