Lectura Early Learners

Irving Elementary School is a Title I public elementary school in Berwyn South School District 100, on Clinton Avenue in Berwyn. Families come together at community events such as Loteria Night, Trunk or Treat, Unity Day, and Walk, Bike, and Roll to School. Students learn with a 1:1 wireless device program, and we offer a gifted and accelerated program. Through the district's Department of Language Acquisition, English learners work toward becoming bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural by 8th grade, with support from biliteracy coaches and dual language programming. District 100 provides a full continuum of special education services for eligible students ages 3 to 21, with occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychological services, social work, and speech and language services set by each student's IEP, plus Section 504 plans. The district also runs half-day and full-day preschool for children ages 3 to 5 after a screening, and our PTO supports family events.

Black Bear Academy is an esteemed therapeutic day school and clinical pediatric practice located in Chicago's Lakeview/North Center neighborhood. Founded in 2003, Black Bear Academy provides intensive therapeutic education and early intervention for children ages 18 months through 10 years with speech-language delays, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and sensory motor challenges. With low 3:1 classroom ratios, the academy bridges the gap between clinical therapy and academic schooling by integrating speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, and academic instruction into a cohesive daily schedule.
