Study Center Inc
The Study Center, Inc. is a small private school and tutoring center in Nokomis for students in kindergarten through 12th grade who have special learning challenges. Our director has owned and run the school since 1995, and families come to us from Venice, Sarasota, Osprey, North Port and Nokomis. Our full-day school program gives each student an individual education plan and a low student-to-teacher ratio. We work with students who have attention deficits, auditory processing challenges, anxiety, Asperger's syndrome, developmental delays and Down syndrome, and we also serve gifted students. Our teachers follow the Florida Department of Education's standards of ethical conduct. Outside the school day we offer after-school tutoring, homework help, private instruction with family sessions, and support for home school and virtual school students. We hold classes in the educational building of First Baptist Church of Nokomis on Shore Road. The school is not religious, and the State of Florida has approved us to accept McKay Scholarships.
